photochromic masterbatch is ultra violet sensitive and when placed in sunlight or near an ultra violet it changes from clear to one of a selection of bright colours. When moved from the UV source it changes back to its original colour. Standard colours from glow in the dark material: colourless to purple, colourless to yellow, pale green to blue.
